"I intended to depict the duality of human nature, perhaps driven by the uncertainty of whether one's true self will be accepted by the world. People desire a sense of belonging, but also fear oppression, and they wish to reveal themselves while also wanting to hide. These dualities can lead to self-oppression and confinement."
